This festival celebrates victory of Shakti over Mahishasura, of Lord Rama over Ravana and of Durga over Mahishasura, as indicated by vedic literature. This is in essence the victory of Good over evil. The event comprised of: offering prayers to the holy Goddess “Durga”, a small presentation by one of the med 5 students about importance of the festival to enlighten students from various parts of the world, few entertainment programs including traditional dances and games.The event then concluded with traditional dinner for all students. It was an evening of delightful celebration that brought a festive mood to the studious medical school environment. All the students enjoyed thoroughly. Students thank specially Katyayani Katari, student of med 5, for organizing this event flawlessly.
