Thirty Eight students enrolled with the American International Medical University College of Medicine (AIM-U) in September 2014 for the MD (Doctor of Medicine) and Pre-med programs. The thirty two MD students began their journey into the medical profession formally. The event was held at the Royal Rex resort St. Lucia on Friday, July 22, 2016.

A striking feature of the glittering ceremony was the Cloaking of the white coat by the students who were showered with words of inspiration by the various speakers, which included professors of the school, Administrators of the school, Practicing Physician Dr. Andrew Mathew and Former Chief Medical Officer (Ministry of Health- Govt Of St Lucia) Dr. Rambally. Draped in their white coats and stethoscope, the students recited the Hippocratic Oath which spelt out what is expected of them as physicians in training.
Remarks were also made by the best outgoing students of the school who expressed delight in being part of the AIM-U family and vowed to do their best to make the school and their family proud. At the ceremony students were also awarded for their excellent performances in their exams, outstanding leadership and service and also the faculty and staff were felicitated for their hard work and dedication throughout the semester.
