The 2016 graduation ceremony of the American International Medical University (AIMU) was held at Sandals Grande Beach Resort, Saint Lucia on 23rd September, 2016. A total of 43 beaming graduates from the School of Medicine and the School of Nursing, distinguished dignitaries, a host of helpful AIMU staff and innumerable proud family members and friends participated in this event. It was truly a magnificent occasion.
Mr. Claudius J Francis (Former president of the Saint Lucian Senate) was the invited Chief Guest for the day. Mr. Francis delivered an enthusiastic speech which was meant to send our students off into the world motivated to achieve all they’ve dreamed and better tuned as professional health care provider. Mr. Francis also presented the Degree Certificate to all the Graduates.

Dean of AIMU – Dr. John Klir, MD, PhD welcomed the graduates and guests for the event. He quoted that “Life with god is an endless hope, but life without God is a hopeless end.” He was hopeful that as the students journeyed on in life that the great and true God would guide them to true success. Our faculty members who were involved in the various aspects of teaching the graduation honorees also received Dr. Klir’s congratulation.
“We are extremely proud of our graduates”, declared Chairman of AIMU-Mr. Evans Calderon. He appreciated all the medical and nursing graduates, their parents, spouses, other family members and friends that helped bring these graduates to this special moment in their life! He urged graduates to keep working hard and not to give up.
Chief Academic officer –Dr. Vivek Lal, MD, PhD administered the Hippocratic Oath for School of Medicine graduates and Mrs. Grissel Leon –Associate Dean of Nursing administered the Nightingale Pledge graduates for the nursing graduates. Reciting the Hippocratic Oath and Nightingale Pledge reminded students of their commitment to high standards of performance and behavior to aspire to as they begin their professional careers. The auditorium was cheered up with the tunes of the new graduates on the beginning of their journey towards the noble profession of health care.
Chief Executive officer – Mr. Ashok Vijay distributed the award felicitating the Best-outgoing students. The outgoing students accepted the awards with an acceptance message and addressed their peers and friends with their pleasant memories of AIMU.
A choir group of AIMU students performed a heartening and entertaining musical extravaganza which uplifted the spirit of the new graduates.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Urban Dolor, Vice President of AIMU.
