AIMU faculty attend AMEE webinar on Medical Research

On Wednesday, 10th May 2017, AIMU faculty members participated in a webinar hosted by the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) titled ‘‘Why do you care about that? The values that drive medical education scholarships and research’ presented by AyeletKuper and Cynthia Whitehead. Four faculty members, Ms. Sylvia Sequeira, faculty of Anatomy, Mrs. Grissel Leon, Associate Dean, School of Nursing, Dr R Balasubramanium, Director, Quality Assurance and Dr P Ravi Shankar, Associate Dean (Curriculum and Quality Assurance) from the School of Medicine participated in the interactive session. The session explored how values influence medical education research and should be considered while planning, conducting, interpreting and writing and reading medical education research papers. The importance of praxis (theory and reflexive) in all aspects of research was also emphasized.The webinar was from 9 to 10 am St Lucia time and was attended by the participants in the media room of the institution.
