Continuing education sessions at Saveetha University

Dr P Ravi Shankar, Associate Dean of Medicine and Professor of Pharmacology at the American International Medical University, Saint Lucia conducted two continuing education sessions at Saveetha University on Thursday, 28th December 2017. The sessions were held at the Department of Pharmacology, Saveetha Dental College between 9.30 am to 12 pm.

The first session was on the topic ‘Misconceptions and misuse of medicines in developing countries’ while the second session was on the ‘Health humanities’. During the first session, Dr Shankar provided an overview about the medicine use situation in developing nations with reference to selected studies from the literature. During the second session an overview of the health humanities was provided. The sessions were attended by faculty members of Saveetha Dental College, postgraduate students and graduate students both from the college and from outside. At the end of the session, Ms T Lakshmi, Associate Dean of International Affairs presented Dr Shankar with a memento and a certificate of appreciation.
