The second health humanities module was conducted during the Spring 18 semester. Dr Rose and Dr Ravi were the facilitators. Nurse Amsa from the School of Nursing also facilitated a few sessions. The second semester medical students and students from the school of Nursing participated. Due to their clinical duties nursing students could not participate in some sessions. Like the previous session small group, active learning methods were widely used. Case scenarios, role-plays, paintings, literature excerpts, poems and debates were used to explore various aspects of the health humanities. The topics addressed were empathy, what it means to be sick, the patient, the patient-doctor relationship, the health science student and death and dying.
